Has anyone else noticed what crap elastic bands are these days, they used to be really good.....are they all <MOD EDIT> made now ?????
even the postmans bands he leaves (red type) are the same........hope i have not posted this before

Okay but my Escort has covered all together 160,000 miles .......half of that on unleaded fuel, no pitting on inserts or valves and the lead will have worn off ages ago........tappets have not closed up as one would expect if there was a problem, we certainly do not drive with a light foot either ...

Work hardened surfaces

Most old vehicles do not need fuel additives to be added to modern petrol, as the work surfaces had work hardened aftera great many miles...if the tappet clearances are not closing up you do not need a additive at all.........if the engine pinks on modern fuel just retard the timing slightly ..

Must admit the finish i get isnt exacty wonderful, just bought an expensive spray gun in case thats the fault but i know its my technique thats the problem
got the bonnet and wings to do when the wife stops using the car............

Wonder if others have noticed on American hotrod program that the guys who do the spraying on panels do not release the gun trigger after each sweep across but rather keep trigger depressed all the time, i was always taught to release trigger then depress on the return sweep.........think i will try ...

No wonder there are people who for a charge will come to your home and assemble the articles.............quite a lucrutive operation judging by the number of adverts to do this. Friend said someone had stuck their advert for this on the wall of Ikea car park....what a laugh..............
