Re: clio diesel
Yes, VED is no longer transferable to the new keeper of a vehicle, this came at the same time that the discs were scrapped; last October.

Re: clio diesel
mine has the paper disc... is it still valid?
Re: clio diesel
No, it's only of any value as a collectable on eBay. (I just sold a very ordinary disc from last year on there for £42.07, the buyer has bought hundreds recently)..

OK, so that's well over the top, especially as it isn't anywhere near the last ever one to have been issued, but there are people who will pay good money for these things. 'kin nutjobs they are..

Some people have benefit cheques to spend and no common sense.

Re: clio diesel
....Which is good news for the rest of us. Especially those of us who just dug out an old (Tupperware, for the food storage enthusiasts out there) bait box with 174 discs inside it.TerryG wrote:Some people have benefit cheques to spend and no common sense.

Re: clio diesel
does your concience bother you at all when selling to simpletons with too much money?
Re: clio diesel
Absolutely, yes. In my defence; I start these things at a few Pennies with no reserve and postage included which, given that a first class stamp would cost 62p (had I not bought a whole load back when they were very much cheaper..), means that it could - theoretically - cost me money to send the things to the collectors. So far, after selling a few dozen of the Reliant ones I had going back as far as 1985, I'm ahead of the game by a small amount thanks to the ones that did make silly prices.
In the cases of these, the buyers wanted them to complete collections as diverse as car manufacturer-related items, things with dates on them, discs issued by some old Post Office that closed years ago when the mobile POs started doing the rounds in all but the most heavily populated areas and others, that were required for use in film & TV work. (I already rented out other props for period things so it made sense and besides, film makers and their actors who drop a tax disc worth costing several hundred Quid can pick it up and it's good as new, whereas a rare B&O radiogram that had to be complete with all of its internal workings can - if treated in the same way - finish up as firewood and broken glass.
