What classic vehicles have you seen?
Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
After 15 years living 10 km from a tank museum i finally got round to visiting..so i saw lots of tanks including the only working king tiger... some had holes in them which made me feel sorry for poor bugger trapped inside.. there is also a section of the berlin wall and a trabant military vehicle... worth a visit if you're in the area..

Bovingdon? Last visited there about 15 years ago .. those old German tanks do belch out the exhaust smoke!

Somebody that I know is a professional classic car restorer. He has a new project, it's called a Chevrolet Fleetline, unusual in that it's right hand drive. Not, as you might expect, for the Australian market, but South Africa. The art deco shape and two tone colour show just how much 'soul' is missing in modern cars.

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Couple of weekends ago now (forgot all about it!) .. but spotted what looked like a '50s Chevy .. but station-wagon style!
Can't be 100% sure as they were a lot of charity walkers around obscuring my view and couldn't get the phone out in time to get a snap.
Heading north on Skirmett Road towards Hambleden in Bucks ..
I assume Chevy made such a beast? Answering my own question - Yes. Just googled and it could have been a Bel-Air ... nice!
Update: Or possibly a Nomad? !!! Those chrome strips down the tailgate may be the clue ..

That post above ... it was a Nomad ... I followed it last weekend ... might be on my dashcam card.
Then today spotted two Mk.I Escorts: one orange, the other pale blue with darker blue 'Mexico-style' stripes ... and an old Transit van. All in the garden of a house in the New Forest. Obviously a Ford-fan.
I was just lining up the camera for a discrete pic when a nice ParcelForce driver reversed his van into the garden and blocked my view ...

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Recently I have spotted a pair of mustangs (old and new) on the same drive... i also stopped to assist 306 owners who had crashed into a ditch, husband was in the army and had spent the day drinking. His wife was not happy at all and borrowed my phone to call the police, they were reluctant to intervene as no one was hurt, although im not sure the husband is still uninjured as his wife was going to throttle him.. no pics as it wasn't possible and she's a big woman and i didn't want to get into her bad books...
