Liking the R25, a very much under rated motor in my view as they're mostly not that badly off for rust and are simple enough to be reliable. So where did they all go then?

There're all over here still. See loads of Renaults , some 'nails' , some minty. From the old 4TL through to 25's.

I regularly see a fab R4 at the local town. Driven by an old dear all year round. Mind you I'm pretty sure it's very much a 'Triggers Broom'

I don't think it's just VW.
It's not .. Ford, Fiat/Alfa, MB, etc all suffering this.

Potholes and speed humps may not help (I was also going to mention the "O" word ..) ...

perhaps we are just asking too much of poor Chinese steel nowadays ..

Rich, please, if you're planning to search the interwebs for the answer, Duckduckgo it as Google would explode in your face, possibly literally.

Nice looking MX5, maybe ask the vendor for the reg details so you can check out its failures from 2005 to the most recent. Oh wait, we've been there.. ;)
Good luck with registering the Insight in that France, maybe buy it for use when you're in the UK?
Buy the American pickup, you're a builder, builders need a pickup, right? :P

No, you didn't break DVLA. The plate is a 1997/'98 one and the car is a 2000 model, so should be on an X or thereabouts. Maybe the R reg is from another car, maybe it's been retained for some reason? Either way, the car being returned to its original plate would mean that you'd need the correct, Y2K reg to check it.

Nice looking Nissan, but I'd sooner have unmended holes than someone else's welding, unless the welder was one of my former students or Heather; sister in law and annoyingly gifted manipulator of molten metals. Chances are the 2007 failure was addressed properly as the exact same failure hasn't recurred, but heavy surface rust through standing around? How does that happen then, was the car "standing around" in a bath of salty slush?

Having put that thought into writing, I obviously need to find something unexpectedly free from corrosion:

Just the job for a resident of that France because someone put the steering wheel ( and the pedals too, if you're really lucky) on the wrong side.
