Re: I've been Toyota shopping.
I know someone who has a Delica that hasn't been used for over a year. He bought a newer one last summer as there was something squeaking on the front suspension on the old one - and the back diff on the newer one whines like mad at cruising speed! The old one (about 1995 IIRC) has a flat tyre now and he was keeping it in the hope that someone would swap the diff to the newer one, but the local garage weren't interested in that job!!
I have to admit, I don't particularly like either of them - they are too much like a Tonka toy for my taste! However, they are brilliant vehicles for my friend's needs; doing things like towing the yachts and caravan, not to mention the 2.5T trailer he used to have (often loaded with a couple of dumpy bags of sand etc) or taking the family (his parents, his wife and three kids) down to London on occasion. All in a comfortable, leather seated, interior!

Great things for towing those imported Mitsus, I used to put the caravan behind my LWB 2.8 Pajero and pretty much forget it was there. I'm heading over to the West Coast with the Caravan later this week, and though the Mondeo 2.2 Diesel is rated quite well as a tow car I'll probably be sat gripping the steering wheel with white knuckles like an old man on some of these roads
If I still had that Pajero you wouldn't see me for dust.

There's no shame in liking weird vehicles, Rich. Some of my favourite vehicles are a little left field too.rich. wrote:i thought it was only mearceye wrote: Delica is a thing of beauty in some peoples eyes
Oh look, here's a Delica from the interwebs:
Try that in a VW camper, go on, I dare you!

Re: I've been Toyota shopping.
Yep, me too. Not only for the name though, but because there's a toilet included with some of the available interior layouts.
