North East Street Rod Club 'OK' Diner Hartlepool/Elwick A19
North East Street Rod Club 'OK' Diner Hartlepool/Elwick A19
OK Diner on the A19 southbound, the meet has now moved to every 2nd
Tuesday of the month. Always a great collection of Rods, Yanks, Customs
and Bikes. The cruise carries on all year round rain or shine, just a reason
to have a burger and a coffee at the diner.
'OK' Diner is at Elwick/Hartlepool services on the southbound side of the
A19. If good weather some turn up at 6pm while the usual time is 7pm
(according to the diner when I called 12Aug2013)
So the Dates should be;
13th August
10th September
8th October
12th November
10th December

Thankfully there are one or two cars in there that haven't been ruined by the rodders

Here are some photos taken at tonight's(10th September 2013 meet at the diner.
I managed to get a friend to take me, Dave enjoyed it as he managed to get the
owner of the vette to let him sit in it! That was his holiday up here made better
for it, he just wished his car hadn't developed a fault puting it into limp home
mode! He is driving back down to Cambridge on the Sunday I hope the car doesn't
drive him nuts on the way back! Sorry to ramble
Enjoy the photos

Tonight's meet photos, as the nights are drawing in, I couldn't take any
more photos later as it was too dark.
Okay I admit it! I did touch the corvette, I used one finger and pressed the
space between the rear lights to see how much give it had.
(blame J.Clarkson on topgear for putting it my head)

£1.40 per litre for the Diesel? Cripes man that's dear, it's as low as £1.34 at some sites through in Newcastle.
I like the car featured in the first two images from today's meet, but sadly I know Jack Shee-ite about Yank tin of that period so can you tell us something about it please?
And why did the person who painted the calipers on that small black hatchback not do them black to blend in with the rest of the night time camouflage theme? Enemy spies will see that bright yellow miles away.

£1.42 in Uttoxeter this morning, it's the same price as super unleaded. If it wasn't for the 50+mpg of my daily diesel it would have been scrapped and I would be in something that runs on proper fuel!
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

The fuel prices at motorway services are always more expensive than the
that in towns or at the supermarket. Before they built the new slip roads etc
a mile south of the services Where they built a much larger service area
including a motel . The only services ON the A19 from the River Tees
upto the Tyne Tunnel were at Hartlepool/Elwick then Easington.
Ron Perry also have the garages with breakdown and recovery services
behind the diner. They have been there many many years. In fact thay are
on a stretch of the original old A19 pre dual carriage way.
Petrol in Blackhall Rocks is £1.309 per liter and derv is £1.349
As for the blue car you seem to like, I was told it was a 68/9 Ford Torino
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Torino) And the owner only bought a
few weeks ago in Manchester
