Its a 1990 Mercedes 190 2ltr, carb type with autobox. She's been stood two years since toppling into a ditch. In my opinion these are fast approaching "classic" status, and given two or three years she will be 25, the old threshold for historic status. So, for the princely sum of £125 I had to fetch her home. Me and the lad actually bought two for £250, he's got the other which is a slightly later diesel.
Anyway, Rather sorry for herself at the moment..

Findings to now are the obvious damage, a new wing has been ordered, I got two doors with the car but will probably not bother for now as I want to press her into service as a runabout soon, and don't want to get carried away until Rusty is finished.
4 or 5 small patch repairs required underneath round drain holes and front wing mounts, very minor and the rest seems very solid and the original underseal sound everywhere else.
She needs tyres, lights sorting, and the anti roll bar fitting, again one came with the car the original having been pulled out when she came out of the ditch.
Running leaves much to be desired at the moment, but I think thats probably down to a couple of years of stale petrol and possibly some clogging of the carb as evidenced by the exhaust smelling nothing like petrol fumes when shes running. I'll be giving the ignition system a going over which should help aswell. The engine for its own part sounds nice and quiet.
So hopefully a nice little side project that will see the road without too much effort, brakes and flexis were renewed along with front springs before going in the ditch, so with a little luck she'll soon be back on the road and I can improve her as I go.
Fingers crossed.......we will see.
