Due to political (family) reasons, I haven't got it yet. It's amazing how much in-fighting a death in the family can cause.

The too new for this site but i'm going to post some pictures anyway golf has arrived
OMG it is horrible inside. Bearing in mind it has been used by a farmer for years the inside is full of "mud" (let's call it mud but it is probably other brown stuff), the wiring is destroyed and it won't turn over but the engine isn't seized. The ignition comes on and the dash lights up but none of the column controls work.
There was a furry creatures nest in the glove box and in the cubby on the right of the dash so I've got to pull the whole dash out and I suspect replace all the wiring, replace the carpet and rear seats but the front may be salvageable, replace the pillar trim, sound deadening from the bulkhead, battery and probably some other bits and pieces but the bodywork is all good.
On the plus side I have found £35 in change so far.
I'll take some pics tomorrow as I didn't want to get my phone out today and use it after having been inside the car. Seriously, it's like a bush tucker trial in there!

Me too. It's the mention of "Bush Tucker Trial" that has my attention. Does this mean we get to see pictures of Vordermann in her swimsuit?

Re: Too new for this site 2006 MK5 golf
You're very keen to see this you sadist.
I have done nothing other than clear the drivers foot well of mess, put some bin bags over the drivers seat, tow it home and park it so it is full of crud, due to wiring damage it isn't possible to open the rear doors and it is parked against a hedge so you'll have to make do with some pics taken by leaning through the drivers door.
When the builders have finished here so I can bring it home rather than it being in the farm yard (half a mile away, it's wet, rainy and cold plus i'm lazy) i'll pull the dash out and get started.
