battery
Re: battery
Search for "vintage batteries"?
For example:
http://www.shieldbatteries.co.uk/applic ... ntage.html
http://www.holden.co.uk/displayAgroups. ... =Batteries
http://www.lincon.co.uk/classic_car_batteries.html
Or was this not what you had in mind?

Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

^^^ What he said..
..Unless you're so tight only dogs can hear you fart (I am ), in which case buy a Halfords own-label battery or a Yuasa. These are black (with the exceptions of a few sizes), some have individual cell caps and they have labels that can be removed pretty easily, leaving you with a period-looking battery that is actually split new and has a warranty - which is unaffected if you're careful when you remove and store the labels. I did exactly that for the Fiat, but then discovered that its factory battery would have been white with a red lid! D'oh!

That's an excellent solution. I'm not knocking the reproduction business but the visual impact of that replica is strong.
