Fuel pump relay

After putting a battery in my RR for the first time in 6 months and trying to start the car, getting no life at all then 4 hours of electrical fault finding. I have found that my "master relay" is dead.
After cleaning 20 years of accumulated dirt off the side of the relay i discovered it has 2x pin 87 which are connected together.
A regualr 5 pin relay will fit BUT doesn't work.
This means that rather than a £2 relay it needs a £18 one (or a bodge which is what i have done temporarily).

Is a relay with 2x pin 87 a normal thing for any application other than Land Rover confusing people?

 Are both pin 87s marked simply that, rather than 87A?

They are indeed. i'll post a pic of the relay cover later if you are curious, a quick google and this looks like a more modern version of the corroded looking aluminium item in the car:

87 and 87 are connected together, the suffixed "a" is AWOL.

Conveniently the fuel pump and master relay are the same so i have a choice of injectors that fire and a starter that turns OR a running fuel pump (or both with the aid of a bit of wire and some spade terminals)

Just in case you are interested in this bizarre thing John, It's Bosch P/N: 0332014112 for the one in the car, 0986AH0602 for the replacement or Land Rover P/N: AFU2913L
