Hello,
I am about to fit heated front and rear screens to my VW, I have bought the fitting kits and they will work but they are switched to be either off or on.
What I want is a to wire them up so they will go off automatically after a certain amount of time and I want to be able to switch them off manually if needed before this time is up.
I'm not sure what I need, obviouly a momentary switch and some type of relay. Its for a 12v car.
Anyone got any good wiring diagram or any links to what I need?
Thanks in advance.
Heated screen wiring?
Re: Heated screen wiring?
You need a handy timer relay: http://www.maplin.co.uk/universal-timer-kit-3315
That one has nowhere near the required current capasity but you could use it to trip a more beefy relay.
It has been quite a few years since i designed myself a timer circuit (for the SRS light in my modern) but there are lots of users on here that are handy with electronics that can probably advise you on a DIY solution.
