Ive got a 1992 Rover220 gti which is all standard and overall excellent condition except for the rear part of the sills.
They have rusted badly behind where the side spats are fitted but it's not just the outer sill that has corroded but the inner wheel arch and arch lip so basically the lower sill where it joins the arch has dissolved, the inner sill is solid, is this repairable or is it going to be a major job.
I have been given an estimate of about £200 per side, is this reasonable, any thoughts appreciated
Thanks Neil

Re: Rover 200 sills
Any 200/400 with the spats fitted seem to suffer, mine did. You may be better off not bothering to refit them once the sill has been repaired, plus you'll find the pins for the clips will be missing, so you'd have to resort to screwing or sticking them back on.
Depending how bad they are £200 a side at todays rates sounds ok, but may be worth shopping around, try some of the mobile welders that advertise in yellow pages etc.

Re: Rover 200 sills
Well as you know it is quite a job if all that needs to be rebuilt and when you consider the average hourly rate these days £200 probably isnt too bad.roverman1 wrote:is this repairable or is it going to be a major job.
