Any suggestion on an alternative to the single Solex carb for a 1592cc Hillman Super Minx? Looking for a fairly simple bolt on fix to give the engine a bit more urgency.
Cheers.

Weber 34 ICH? These are found easily among piles of Land Rover spares and are used, suitably jetted, for everything from F750 Reliant engines right through to, er, Land Rovers in 2.25 litre form.
A 32 ICH may come slightly cheaper, and has the advantage of an idle solenoid and a fuel overflow facility, but I've never used one of those on anything bigger than a 940cc MK1 Escort so can't say how well that would work.

Would this fit straight on to the existing manifold do you think?JPB wrote:Weber 34 ICH? These are found easily among piles of Land Rover spares and are used, suitably jetted, for everything from F750 Reliant engines right through to, er, Land Rovers in 2.25 litre form.

I believe it would, but give me the distance between the stud hole centres in the existing carb & I'll tell you for certain.
