Rich, you need the thing in the image that will be appearing further down the page, they're very good at LW (and the Short & Medium wavebands too..) and I know of an outlet that always has a selection of carefully refurbished examples to choose from, special price for expats who need one ;) , other makes & models are available but this Stella (a Philips brand) is among the very shiniest of the lot:

I'll get it out, check it over, do anything that it needs following its prolonged period of storage and get back to you by PM with a price sometime during the week if that's ok. It won't be stupidly expensive as these rarely make more than £100 even on eBay and I don't need anywhere near that for it. ;)

It's a lovely old thing but it does benefit from a long wire aerial as the built in foil aerial is pretty hopeless, it doesn't have the luxury of an efficient ferrite rod or similar wirewound internal aerial, but beyond that it's every bit as practical a means of listening to the AM bands as any other. 8-)
Sadly, it won't bend time..

Nae bother. I had no existing ideas about selling it any time soon, so consider it reserved for you. I'm in no hurry to move it on so it can be kept here for as long as is necessary. Like I said, I'll check it over and make sure that it's still working properly but it was recapped some years ago and everything else was found to be fine at the time, typical Philips stuff really; tough as old boots by & large.

Must be something about the name Phillips, my missus' push bike is a 1926 Phillips, still going strong, never had a moment's problem with it.
And if that Rich says: "Did you buy it new." :moon:

And did you?

I love older pushbikes, they're just so much heavier and harder to ride than the new ones but still these old things fascinate me as does anything old with wheels or ti... Hang on, that's the doorbell, be right back.

Rich those velocipedes look quite young, did you not know that the velocipede is now 200 years old.
