Rich - With you only having purchased the truck recently - I take that you can claim this back on warranty ?

as i bought the truck from a garage it came with six months guarantee.. trouble is the garage was 4 hours drive from here.. i rang them tuesday & they asked me to take it to a local garage...they will settle the bill or come & collect the thing & repair it themselves

What about downtime? When one of my Mercedes Sprinter vans was off the road for a warranty repair, the dealer always came up with a downtime replacement. Also, check to see if you are liable for the VAT. How much is French VAT these days?
