^^^ Hmm, interesting PoV, but let us suppose for a moment that Pete's caution is unwarranted and that the seller is a genuinely decent individual who, rather than shoving a bottle of K-Seal in the thing to mask the symptoms for a few days, is taking the responsibility for your receiving a vehicle that works properly. HG failure happening the week before you collect is surely better than having it let go next month and having to sort it at your own expense, is it not?
;)

the guy seems to be honest, he didn't need to say anything. the mechanic tested the truck & it started to get a bit warm & then they tested for hg failure & then informed me.. there is 6 months guarantee with it...wish me luck :D

Hope you're right, just struck me as a little odd that this didn't emerge until after they'd got your money.

right... here goes... collected truck,1 week later than planned. arrived at st lo with a massive headache.. signed the papers & headed home taking the national routes .. en route bought some nurofen.. continued driving following the instructions of gladys the sat nav & ended up on the motorway when all i wanted to do was either throw up or have a kip.. 40 minutes later i stopped at the services & filled up with fuel.. i was asked by a rather delightful lady hitchhiker if i was heading for paris, sadly i was going the other way.. fuel paid for i found the car park & stretched out on the back seat for a 5 minute kip...... an hour or so later i woke up & was on my way feeling much better, even the coffee i had brewed was almost drinkable!
whilst on my way phone rang & wifey informed me the garage had rang & told her they had forgot to do the ct (mot) cue lots of colourful language... the garage arranged for me to get the ct done at a local test centre.. i finally got it tested 3 days later and it failed... this resulted in more colourful language... the garage then contacted me to say that they would be collecting the monster last saturday ... more excitement to follow
