Just to give you a bit of a an update.. i tried fitting the radio cassette from the clio but for some reason the wiring is different.. so its sat on the floor and im enjoying the silence... the cab had a bit of smoke in it for a while, then the fan stopped working last april.. i finally got round to looking at it yesterday and found the resistance thing and plug had melted... now waiting for eBay seller to say whether his kit fits...

Another update, last week I rubbed down and sprayed the light guards, it's only been 3 years I've been meaning to do it.. this afternoon I had the great news that the company that has been supposed been repairing it have given up and will be sending it back shortly... spent most of the evening cussing and trying to find a replacement...

Hi chaps, I'm getting desperate now.. the axle story is dragging out longer than my epic mr2 alternator replacements..
Can anyone recommend an engineering company that can repair or supply a service exchange axle ?
Preferably in the west country, but willing to take the thing anywhere now...
Thanks for any help Rich

Update on the truck.. phone call from Eve the secretary Tuesday day morning to say it was fixed.. shes still amazed that I have been polite and patient with her.. emptied out the galaxy Wednesday morning and left home around 5 pm.. arrived at the garage at 5 am. Went to sleep in the car for a couple of hours woke around 8 freezing cold..axle was loaded into the car bill paid and off I went.. arrived home for 8pm .. yesterday I lifted it out of the car and bolted it in place.. hand brake cables have been damaged in transit so will need replacing at some stage and I'm going to paint the hubs to smarten it up a bit and hopefully get the mot over the next week

Axle is now fitted, apparently I need to fill the hubs of the Axle for the bearings even though its all connected with the differential... only one thing I removed the bungs and the end of the half shaft is blocking access.. can I get away with removing the bolts and hopefully lining up with the holes?
I've tried Google and a couple of forums but no luck :(
