took the kids to the doc last night, no 3 is unwell, while there i asked the doc to have a look at my eye, she took 2 bits of steel out.. i will wear glasses next time

some on another forum I frequent suggest wearing a welding lid when doing any prolonged grinding/ disking etc

id finished cutting some tin on the edge of a roof & the wind blew the dust into my eye when i moved the tin...will wear goggles next time..

I had a trip to casualty for that as well a few months back....i normally wear all the gear, the one time I couldn't be bothered as if was only a quick job I ended up with a small sliver of steel in my eye, I looked like a terminator.....after it was pulled out there was a small pit on the iris for a week or so.
I spent my teens and twenties happily doing this stuff for hours on end with no protective gear at all, and only once needed stitches, I must've been lucky!

i feel your pain mate! i only asked the doc to have a quick look as i had taken the kids to see her (no3 was ill).. no 1 child held the magnifying glass & lamp for the doc as she took the bits out & cleaned up my eye.. i was pleased she didn't wince & was keen to help

ght my eyes do pop out when i spot a lovely aggro...
john, daughter no 1 is going to be a rocket scientist... daughter no 2 is going to be an evil genius..... not sure about no 3 yet
