Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

The Subaru was quite impressive - I collected & delivered it from / to the clients address so covered about 20 miles in it and it handled really well - not that I would boot any of my clients vehicles!

Scoobie BRZ is same as Toyota GT86 .. apparently the collaboration deal that they made meant Toyota got the lion's share of sales. I've only seen one BRZ .. but a lot of GT86's!
Scoobie is a bit cheaper funnily enough!

I too have seen a fair number of GT86s but the only Subaru-badged one I've seen was in the local Subaru showroom, flanked by a couple of the John Deere products that are the mainstay of the business. But it's not the first time Toyota have been in bed with Subaru and/or Daihatsu, whose Atrai (HiJet replacement) mini-mpv/micro camper/flatbed kei truck, etc. is also sold as the Toyota Sparky, with both versions having some Subaru Sambar/Sumo DNA in them.
Atrais aren't exactly beautiful, especially not when compared to Suzuki's similar vehicle, IMHO, but they're brilliant fun, especially the 4x4 versions with two berth accommodation, a cooker, a food preparation area with basin and even a small cupboard containing an even smaller but fully usable chemical lavatory. Best keep that away from the food.

I might go and check out the BRX at my local Scoobie dealer ..
I'm actually waiting for the new Alfa Giulia, being released in UK later this year, but the 156 is definitely struggling and there is a limit to how much even I am prepared to throw at a 17 year old Alfa ...

Moderns are ok when they don't need working on. They look good all new and gleeming, but when they need bodywork done for example, the metal is so thin that applying the needed pressure to wet'n'dry, dents can be accidentally caused

I tend to get someone with more ability than me to do bodywork. I have just replaced the alternator on my MK1 focus and it was a 2 hour swear fest. Most of that working out how to remove it. Alternator replacement on the mog, 10 minutes including the time it takes to find my imperial spanner set.
