tablets

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Consider yourself both advised and abused! Right, that out of the way; do you have Tesco in that France place? Loads of the staff at work have Tesco own brand tablets and they rate them highly.
I don't have a tablet because I've never seen the advantage of an extra couple of inches (of screen estate, stop sniggering at the back..) compared to my phone but maybe for older people who are a bit rubbish at seeing stuff, the larger device would find its raison d'être?
Most folk of a certain age should stick to writing letters, they're good at that. ;)

Oops! Maybe a link would be useful:

Damn! Only £99 for an eight inch one if you're a Tesco Clubcard holder. That has to be worth a look, I think I just changed my mind about the whole not wanting a tablet thing..

Buy a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (or 3 or 4 or a note 10.1 if you can find one cheap enough). I have over 100 of them in use and I haven't ever had one back with a fault.

For home use I find my iPad superb( more that £100 tho) a decent tablet would suffice for Internet etc.
I'm lucky in that I use my desktop in work for everything else.

That's more than £100 ;)
It's a very nice tablet. For the price it is pretty good value. Not the fastest thing out there but certainly fast enough.

I have them in use in factories in destructive environments (welding and grinding going on), with salespeople and mobile fitters on the road getting rained on and used outdoors most days. With product demonstrators getting used as signature pads, the design / engineering department use them as scribble pads.
Various staff have them for their kids.

I would suggest a half decent case as they will get dropped and something on the corners is a huge help.
