Re: clio diesel
OBDII didn't become compulsory on diesels until 2004, so perhaps you should check with some of the forums before spending your money.

Remember that nowadays one of the cheapest ways to get a code reader is to get a special cable and an app (Torque Pro?) for your smart phone (assuming you have one) - well worth getting, gives a high level of functionality and even if it doesn't work on your Clio, a very useful thing to have for most >2001 motors.rich. wrote:need to get a cheap reader now..
You still need to note the issue about diseasels not being compliant until 2004 though, the actual year of compliance varies with manufacturer and model, so as above, worth a check. Before compliance, many cars had a simple method of getting codes using the blinking of the EML, but you'd have to check forums as to whether this would work on your car and how to do it.
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.
Re: clio diesel
I have a Bluetooth OBDII reader and it is damn handy
(btw the CLIO MK2 Diesel does have OBDII)
Something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-OBD2-ELM3 ... 1206015268
Assuming you have an android phone could get you sorted for less than a tenner.

Re: clio diesel
If you just want an OBDII reader the free version of torque does the job. The pro version does have it's advantages but if you are super tight (rich) the free version is a good place to start.

Re: clio diesel
Have you got a cheap android tablet for your small people to play angry birds on as you could use that.
I would look for the absolute cheapest one with the view you only want it to read codes not do anything "fancy". Alternatively, price up a cheap 2nd hand Android tablet with Bluetooth as it is a much more useful thing combined with the Bluetooth OBDII reader than a stand alone gadget.

Re: clio diesel
I assume that "POUR PIECES" means breaking. My French isn't good enough to read what's wrong with it and Google translate is utterly useless:
DELIVERED ON SALE
NO Booking nayant never seen the person who had booked
SELLS FOR PIECES CLIO 1.5 DCI
ENGINE HS ( SCRATCHES SURUN side of the BODY
veicule the engine starts but hs
200EUR
POSSIBILITY GREY CARD IN CHARGE
VEICULE REMOVE ON SITE
available on 29
NO POSSIBILITY OF DELIVERY
What do you want it for if it's broken? I thought you had enough broken French cars at your place already
