A new member of the family(not a car)

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

A new member of the family(not a car)

#1 Post by Mitsuru » Wed Mar 16, 2011 6:57 pm

After We had to put Molly our family dog to sleep last week
(due to ill health and age, she couldn't walk anymore, because
we didn't want her stressing herself too much and she had a
heart attack to that morning)
My parent's thought it bast to get another dog quickly so our
other dog Cassey doesn't get lonely.

Meet Danny a rescue dog, my parents seen him at the centre,
their first thought was how could anybody treat a dog like this!!

My dad who never thinks with his heart on something like this
said "He IS coming with us!"
Danny was brought in the day before.
Danny was seen by the vet at 3pm and home by 5pm.

With a very large garden and loads of TLC, and plenty of food.
He will be better here.

I'm sure you'll miss Molly and hope Danny lives up to expectations.

Our dog (Springer x Collie) is an ex-RSPCA bitch who was neglected. She was eight months old when we got her and has only been in a car once in the last nine years (and had to be drugged before we could get her in!). Most of our pets have come from rescue places - and have been wonderful animals; though we work hard to bring the character out, not supress them with "discipline"!

Apart from a fear/hatred of cars, our dog is frightened of farm animals! I don't mind that as it means she won't chase sheep (or cows, horses or pigs!) - she runs away from them! She's been a superb "carer" for Mother (who has Alzheimer's) and has a great sense of humour. EG - walked across the kitchen one day and breaking wind to the beat of "We will Rock You"!

Is that a Boxer? Wonderful dogs... so long as they get to run on a regular basis.

Silly boy, Mother isn't a Queen fan!

There again, the dog hasn't much taste - she prefers Status Quo!
