youtube

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I would consider trying it, Rich, but sadly we have a thing called ANPR in this country nowadays.. :( ;)

I can just imagine that conversation at the local court:
The Chairperson of the bench wrote:So, for your dodgy plates, Mr JPB, you are required to pay a £27,993 fine and attend a course in the foolishness of taking the p*ss out of Police Officers, as your skill in that subject area would seem to be poor!
I, in my dreams, wrote:GERRITRIGHTUPYE!!

I'm not sure whether that's cruelty to Bedford TKs or sheer brilliance!
BBC628Y, Dad's TK horsebox as owned by the old man back in the eighties (and occasionally borrowed by me when I was visiting, great pub crawl transport you see..), could probably have been improved by cutting it in half and gluing it to a tractor as it wasn't all that fuel efficient and drank Diesel at a rate of roughly 4mpg, but was only that good if we managed to avoid the hills that its low gearing was intended to help with. On long runs, top speed was around 50mph but its dodgy air-hydraulic brakes would have made any more quite dangerous.
For some bizarre reason, the truck's plate is showing on the database as belonging to a Honda motorcycle. Oh how I wish it had been a bike, apart from not being able to carry so much stuff, that would have been much more useful.

In spite of its being a bit rubbish, I had much respect for the thing, without which I'd probably have lived my life to now without ever experiencing the joy of driving a wagon. I say "joy", but maybe that's a little OTT.

One of our domain names isn't working but as long as you come to practically-classics.co.uk everything is OK. Getting hold of Neil is proving difficult but I hope to have it sorted soon.
