You do realise that was over 50 years ago. I remember his name was Micky, but I just can't remember his surname nor his trading name. His garage was in Green Street on the junction with South Esk Road, I'm guessing it was E7, I lived one street along and that was in Forest Gate E7. I was 22, Micky was probably late thirties, which makes him close to 90 now.

Strange thing about the Dodge, I never questioned why he had an American pick-up, but that was probably because I remember, as a child, my Dad had a Hudson Hornet. My father and an American officer were on courtroom service at the end of WW2. Later, back in the UK, the American just wanted to get out of war torn Europe and sold his car to my Dad, for almost next to nothing. American cars in The East End were not such a rarity.

Well that's twice today that you've posted lovely French stuff that the rest of the world ignored! That truck could be an incredibly good thing to take green laning.
Consider that a bog stock Toyota camper van can embarrass the folk who throw money at the problem rather than learning how not to get stuck, then imagine the satisfaction that would come from using that Renault to pull someone's split new, top spec Range Rover out of a muddy hole.

Bags of character, styling that wouldn't look out of place in an architectural salvage yard and big, big wheels. What's not to like?

It means a schooner, and not one of those arty farty glasses that you quaff sherry from. It's a type of fast sailing-ship with two or more masts.

Hmm, so the owner didn't like the price of the work? Couldn't afford it so left the car at the garage? I'm not saying that it's bound to be a whole load of expensive trouble, but if you have the £750 to spare and want to invest it even more wisely, I've just bought three dozen left handed shovels from a mate who needed the space that they were taking up in his downstairs bog. They're mostly complete, though several have either a handle or a blade missing, some have extensive woodworm damage and one in particular is certain to be a future collectible because its shaft has been expertly carved to resemble a vulture's head.
I would of course accept reasonable offers.
