Hmm, the seller appears not to be able to spell the name of the place in which he stays! Maybe the local authority has changed the spelling of Hayes since last time I was in that south?
And one of his contact numbers puts him in the Untied States of America*, he reckons that he's "always travelling." Odd. Last I heard their borders were as ours, closed other than to residents who'd escaped and now need to go home.

Then,
The last of the Time Lords wrote:featured in several Car magazines in the late '90s and early 20000s.
So if he's not from Gallifrey, he's the one person on the planet who is free to travel in & out of America as well as 17980 years into the future. Maybe he owns an aircraft? Maybe he's the president? That would explain his taste in cars, I can just imagine Trump's Finasteride-inspired yellow locks behind the wheel of that.
Possibly, the owner is John Barrowman, Glaswegian entertainer and proud possessor of dual Scottish / American citizenship? Either way, the car is clearly the next generation of T.A.R.D.I.S.
Great mystery, sh**e looking car, nice colour. Yep, our man GHT should have a point of view on this one!

*- I know, but it sort of is.

Liking the three wheeled mini. It's not the only one that's lost a wheel and gained cheaper VED in the process, but it certainly has a certain charm. Wear bike leathers and a lid when going out in it and even the absence of roof won't matter. The seller has a very good reputation among the enthusiast community all over the north east and further afield, so if he says that it works then it does. It's probably the least costly roadworthy eighties mini available anywhere in the UK.
If you buy it and don't like it, I guess you could always cut the front end of the body away and stick it on a wall...

Id have thought ght would have that escrote... ideal to take to classic car show and give the purists a heart attack... that mini does have a certain amount of charm.. i wonder what would happen if i tried to do the same with wifeys clio...although the results would probably would involve my testicles and a blunt knife...

The Mini was novel, I grant you. But in this day and age, when the old Mini engine smokes like a Russian battleship, you have to get clean and green. Or in this case, blue.

Although I feel compelled to support the good old A series and state that they shouldn't smoke and only do so when something is wrong with them, I'm also seeing the appeal of the surprisingly large number of EV conversions now available for Issigonis' little masterpiece of (almost, the A series was already some 9 years old when mini came along) clean sheet vehicle design. It's almost the perfect platform as the rear seat isn't the best so replacing that with a decent set of batteries, although adding weight, is a logical use of the space.
There is at least one Reliant Fox that has been converted into an EV, but, IIRC, it uses cleverly repurposed technology with motor and batteries of an earlier age, similar to the sort of things that kept milk floats trundling along before Supermarkets (who remembers them from before the great plague of 2020? :( ) became the go-to place for dairy produce and wiped out many thousands of deliverers' livelihoods in their attempt to supply cheaper milk.

I'd not be surprised if at least one or two 2CVs have been electrificated too, and Morris Minors are definitely being updated in this way too, a fact that leaves me with mixed feelings but mostly hope. Hoping that is, that the electric Minor will be equipped with some means of sounding the same as an all original car. A Minor without that signature overrun farty noise is just not the same,
:)

 That's my day kicking off on a brighter note! Can't beat an infantile bed and wind-related comment.

*Resists temptation to mention the BGT in case MGOC members break in overnight and empty my freezer.* ;)

I'm now in such a good mood that I wasted several seconds of the enforced (quite rightly so..) "staycation", seconds that could have been used for a game of solo I spy, to seek out an eBay item that might appeal to our man in France.

Rich, this one has your name written all over it:

No idea what a "Dick Van" is. Nor, for that matter, do I understand the term "Dyke Show". :?: My apologies in advance for any misunderstanding, I assume that the vehicle is used by construction workers in Holland, who travel around demonstrating their specialist methods of preventing the country from being flooded?

I might be able to help. When a Dutch actor tried his luck on Uncle Sam's shores, the agent whose number he had been given in his native Holland, told him that although his acting credentials were impeccable, he would definitely have to change his name, Penis Van-Lesbian didn't bode well in English. The actor was furious, so much so that he stormed out of the agent's office.

50 years later that same agent who had been trying to retire, found a letter on his doormat. Intrigued he opened it to find a cheque for $100,000 and a hand written note, which read. "Fifty years ago you advised me to change my name, it made the red mist come down, I left and found another agent. But you were right, Penis Van-Lesbian doesn't translate well, I took your advice, please accept my apologies and grateful thanks.
Kind regards
Dick van Dyke.
