You do realise that was over 50 years ago. I remember his name was Micky, but I just can't remember his surname nor his trading name. His garage was in Green Street on the junction with South Esk Road, I'm guessing it was E7, I lived one street along and that was in Forest Gate E7. I was 22, Micky was probably late thirties, which makes him close to 90 now.
Strange thing about the Dodge, I never questioned why he had an American pick-up, but that was probably because I remember, as a child, my Dad had a Hudson Hornet. My father and an American officer were on courtroom service at the end of WW2. Later, back in the UK, the American just wanted to get out of war torn Europe and sold his car to my Dad, for almost next to nothing. American cars in The East End were not such a rarity.
