breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Can't even get the make right, it's a Thornycroft
I hadn't even thought of that!

Rich, a Renault 12 Break with a seized engine is probably worth having. One of my 12TL Breaks was that same shade of blue. VCU284T, R.I.P.
I like both of the Mitsubishis, especially the second one, which is on French plates. That's surely a JDM car though, in which case how the heck did someone manage to get it registered in France? I thought that was nigh on an impossibility so well done to the person who managed that. I also like the boot carpet, but I always was fickle like that.

That seems like a decent HiLux, but if you want such a beast, why not go for a Surf, which is much more like a car than that example and that reminds me about the pickup truck that went for a haircut..

Pickup truck goes into the barber's and says "Nice and short please, not as long as a number three but maybe slightly longer than a number one".
Barber replies "Certainly Mr Truck, one crew cab cut coming right up".

Imagine if the bloke with the Mitsubishi had a few other offers coming in, all lower than yours. D'you suppose he would get back in touch with you and accept your cash after all? ;)

Just saying..

Never mind that one, you need this:

I wondered where the "Monster" part of the title came from, then I read the MOT history! Maybe stick with a slightly less modified truck, so here it is: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-hilux ... Sw8A1aT72n

Fancy yourself a Bond baddie? In Dr No, Bond is seen driving his Sunbeam Alpine whilst being chased by Dr No's henchmen. Is the baddies car the same as the white one above? Is it a Buick? If not, what is it?

This:

:?:

It's a combination hearse/limousine body mounted atop a 1939 La Salle commercial chassis. Apparently (and I didn't remember this before I flicked through the film to have a closer look) the American thing miraculously transformed itself into a Humber in the later part of the chase, where the bad guys went over the cliff.
