ford galaxy

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

Here's a better use for that big 427 V8.

Chicken! I'd have gone for the Galaxie and then blamed the sales person at the dealership for getting the names mixed up.

Yes. Dad's Jetta has that version of the 1.9TDI engine with the 6-speed DSG transmission. The thing's crazily quick and has my beloved, 78 year old Pa taking on chavvie types in their Corsas every chance he gets. So it's official; the 130bhp TDI motor can make old people young again.

He also gets an average 63mpg with it, though a manual car may not be quite so good on the fuel, especially not when it's bigger. But I'd be surprised if it averages far below 55mpg.

Best bit: Thrashing the 'nads off the thing makes no difference, they're good that way. 8-)
