Just driven my Escort mk2 back from a tyre fitter, when he was putting the wheels back on i asked him not to overtighten the wheel nuts ....
on checking same could not move them with the normal tyre wrench in the car...so tried a long bar on them same result...could only turn them after putting a great deal of force on long bar.....what wankers..no chance at side of road with puncture and only standard tyre brace......actually damages the thread as well
gave him a some advice on the phone which he did not appear to enjoy.........not the first time these idiots have done this on my vehicles.....
sure there are others who have same experience.........

Re: BAR STEWARDS
Watching Wheeler Dealers the other day I noticed that Ed China always uses an air gun when he fits wheels to their "restored" classics and dosnt use a torque wrench - not really setting a good example either
Re: BAR STEWARDS
Would no be so bad if they turned down the poundage on their air tool...............
they seemed to be of the school tighten it up so that the thread strips and then back it off a bit........
