There are a few of the later Car SOS projects on display at BMM Gaydon, including a powder blue MGA, AC Aceca, DB6 and Volvo P1800. From my (casual) lookover of these cars the restoration /makeover work looks very worthy, and I would be overwhelmed if my car was attended in that way.
More than one handover has been done there too. However I have albeit briefly looked over a certain 1980's hot hatch awaiting handover (being vague as I don't know if episode has been aired yet) and thought the work patchy - with loads of fill under paint.

So on a parallel note I have attached a couple of snaps of the BMC transporter that was on parade at the recent HRCR Open Day @ Gaydon - I think the transporter was featured in USA on a Wayne Carini prog a few years ago. As you will spot it has a Mini in back, the yellow van in background of one of the shots also has a FIAT 500 loaded.

I think that you're correct. ISTR seeing Wayne driving it about somewhere Stateside.
Currently over 35 years worth of fixing 35 boxes.
Hoping to reach 65 years worth of fixing 65 boxes.

I also remember seeing him drive something very similar in a Chasing Classic Cars episode but was that one not blue, or has it been painted since being bought and reimported to the UK? Either way, it's an incredibly fine looking old thing, IMHO.

Fine? No it's not fine, it's just old. Incredible, certainly, incredible that anyone bought such an eyesore. I'm not sure if they are one and the same or two different vehicles.
I saw one at Goodwood a couple of years back, when Grumpy Northerner and I were in The Transport Corps. This photo is of the one that made to Uncle Sam's shores. The link is the history of the design and use. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2016/09/0 ... t-auction/

That one is the one that Wayne Carini owned.

Strange old vehicles, based as far as I can find out on a 5 ton truck chassis and claimed to have been designed by Pininfarina. They seem to have built a few through the 1950's and 1960's...…

The above link has a few pictures of them.

I do recall the one Wayne Carini had was a fixed-back one, never intended to carry the car(s) it was supporting as in the programme where he featured it he considered converting it to a hatchback. His one was built (according to Bonhams) in 1963 so the late D plate on it in the above picture is a bit misleading. I also recall it had fins on the back wearing Austin Cambridge A55 Farina rear lights!

Whilst I do record many of the car TV programs, "Chasing Classic Cars" is not one of them so I can't check for sure.

The other one further up the post is (again according to the auctioneer) 1959 built.
