Humax Box:

It's a betamax for today .. basically a hard-drive (just like you have inside your computer) which records television programmes .. and some have a DVD recorder too.

I apologise unreservedly for any harm I may have caused by my attempt at humour.

Rich is obviously a man of many qualities, in both business, his family life, his choice of nationhood and the joy of sharing in our wonderful hobby.

Just don't let him near anything vaguely electrical. I mean, just look at the alternator fandango....

Actually I'm reading his autobiography. And so far it has been quiet amusing. I've not yet got to the IoM fireball incident!! The photograph is pretty alarming though!!

His Dad was a TT racer and bike mechanic, and his younger sister is a racing-bike mechanic!

I read that, the first book I've read since way before I left school over 40 years ago, and once I started on it I couldn't put it down, and as soon as i finished it I read it again just in case I'd missed something the first time around.

His second book wasn't as good but was worth the read, the third one I've got half way through and haven't really got any burning ambition to finish it. Maybe it's because it's a lot more about the TV work, and a lot less about the bike racing, which has taken a real back seat lately.
