Taxi wise, it was specifically a Metrocab (with Reliant badge or with decent Toyota engine) that I would have bought, but now of course, I've got my daily dose of Diesel action with the Dickshovery, whose engine clatter factor is right up there with the most ancient of heavy oil guzzlers. I might review the taxi buying idea after the snow season and I do have another perfectly capable 4x4 in the smaller, less antisocial Pajero Mini, but the thing preventing my rushing out and dragging home the first vaguely roadworthy black cab that I can find is space, or lack thereof.
I'm working on a plan that involves my reducing the rent for my best (in the sense that they're reliable payers and damned fine human beings) tenants, whose back garden is largely car-free and far too big for them to manage as they get older.. ;) .

I do have a softy for those 'fast blacks' but cannot see me ever going for one.
Interesting the ad' says C of C needed. That's not correct these days. If Section K on the V5 is complete, then that proves the vehicle conforms to European Regs. But try telling that to the old fart in the Prefecture

Personally, I prefer the cabs of New York:

Oh! Go on then.

Sing to the theme tune of PP.

Postman Pat Postman Pat

Postman Pat ran over his cat

All his bit went flying

Postman Pat was crying

He's never seen his cat as flat as that.

Go on, admit it you're all trying now aren't you to see if it actually fits the music
.......And you'll be singing it in your head all day  :scared:

I doubt that a Crayford William - or the same vehicle going by any of the other brand names - would have sufficient weight to do significant damage to a cat. Cats, you see, have armoured bodywork and can survive massive impacts, which makes them pretty hard to squash. Or is that Woodlice I'm on about? I frequently mistake one for the other.
