That are manufacturing & retailing poor quality parts to the classic car market - This is a repair section for the VW bay window camper that I currently working on

proudly applied union jack / made in UK logo - no where even close to fitting - I have had to alter the flange and I will still have to piece a section to it to make it good

I think we have got to the point where a national quality standard for classic car parts should be instigated but how it could be applied and policed is another thing

That extra gap is for improved ventilation ;)
Is it the new panel that's pants or the existing panel on the van?

And you thought that you had problems, Chris. It's going to take a bit more that a bit of heating and bashing to fix this:

Existing panels on the van are original so it's categorically the replacement panel that is the problem

That sucks, I've never worked on a dub, is it a compound curve or a panel you can make yourself without too much difficulty?

Terry - It's a compound curvature panel - they were £9 each and I thought for the money that is was not worth me messing about making up the panel from scratch although I could have done - I am going to have to spend as much time altering what they supplied to fit now - I always expect a little bit of adjustment with new panels even OE stuff rarely fits without some modification but these are nowhere near - I shall certainly be advising the supplier of the failing

That sucks.
I feel your pain with fettling panels, I don't think any off the shelf ones I bought for the RR were the correct size / shape and all needed some modification to fit.
