Have you seen old cars with exterior headlights? They all seem to have a pair of exterior chromed horns too. So, I just had to get a pair.
Now when I'm asked why I call the car Jessica, I can say: "Because she's a red head, with a fine body and a cracking pair of hooters.

That's a co-ncidence - my Midget has "Jessica" engraved on the boss of the steering wheel, it was owned by a lady called by that name before I bought it. I don't name cars, but if I did, that'd be the name it would have!
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

I wanted to improve the speakers in my Dolomite so I went for these.

Very period for the 80s/90s I had such a pair of speakers in my MK2 Cavalier back in 1992.

Nice! I'd be making a spare parcel shelf to go with these, then you could preserve Brown's original shelf and create something that would allow the speaker cabinets to be ported through to the boot, for loads of kickin' bass, innit. ;)
I had a very similar pair of shelf speakers on the back shelf of my FSO/Polski-Fiat 125P* and when they were ported in that way, the sound went from poor to almost adequate overnight!

*- That Polski was a lot better than my Lada (a rather stylish 1500 Kombi in the two tone blue) and indeed a lot better than most people assumed it would be, [the Polski] currently stands at number 54 on my list of cars that I would love to own again if they were still alive and available. 54 may seem a poor place to be, but I've owned 107 cars since 1980 (or 109 since 1978 if I count the ones I had when I was 14), had 79 of those registered in my own name and used 64 as actual transportation devices. So my attic should be home to many cheesy bits of tat. It should, but the radios, record players and CR tubes for the old tellies leave only just enough space for my mini Clubman interior and that's neither cheesy nor an accessory.
