Rolls Royce Phantom 2

#1 Post by History » Wed Jul 01, 2015 12:03 am

I have just been looking at a Phantom 2. 1932 I think. The chassis no is TA 93. 3100 miles. The present owner has just put another 60 miles on it. Once the car is reliable then hopefully it will be his daily driver. The car has a rich patina. It was overhauled in 1965 by Frank Dale and Stepson. I have ridden in a similar car and a Phantom 2 will pull from 10mph to 75mph in top gear. They don't accelerate they sort of gather speed. Engine is OHV 7.6 litre 6 pot in line 4.5 inch bore and 5.5 inch stroke with a 4 speed gearbox and 3 rd gear is direct drive. Massive headlights. 7 seats including chauffeur.

Goldfinger drove a similar car , which was a Phantom 3 V12.

The car is on the Australian Rolls Royce Owners forum.

Bob.
