Patina

#1 Post by History » Mon Jun 08, 2015 11:25 pm

My 41 year old Shadow is far from new looking. The 10 year old paint job is still shinny but had the old divet touched up. The leather is creased and the paint rub off the driver seat up right bit by the door. The carpets are synthetic wilton style Rot Proof. There's no tears in the leather. The wood is fine apart from drivers door capping.

In short the car has patina.

I shall do the capping though with spray can clear coat.

The leather smell is nice. The gentlemans club inside is a happy place to be.

I could restore bare metal respray etc.

But I like it as it is. I dont pretend that any thing other than a nice old car going though its mid life and the beauty of youth had faded to be replaced with a mature look instead.

After all if I like it then who cares what others think.

Anyway I can't drive it if its in bits. Driving the car is much more fun the working on it. I don't care how many miles I put on the car. The cost of fuel restricts that.

Patina Rocks.

Regards
Bob.
