Brake hoses.

#1 Post by History » Sat May 16, 2015 4:10 pm

Unsure about the following because it was told to me by another mechanic.

In 1992 GM tried to build a sealed for life hydraulic system for car brakes. They failed.

However the brake hoses they designed are now standard fare. These hoses have teflon liners which are white Inside.

This is like SS braided hoses. Except they are rubber sleeved instead of SS braid.

If this info is correct then modern rubber hoses fitted to old cars will last longer.

Regards
Bob Reddington.
