My first car was.....
Re: My first car was.....
...Morris 1000 Van (grey) TVK***G. Just passed my test:- 1975.
BiL ran me up to Consett to get it, bought £180 +T&T in a Warehouse unit, at night.
With my Sis on board, we set off back home..... nearly wrapped it as I desperately tried NOT to blind oncoming cars with HighBeam (Blue light in dash).... swerving about looking for the dipper!
...eventually realised it was on the floor, by the clutch!! as IF!
BiL, following, thought he was going to celebrate his next Wedding Anniv on his own.... poor sod

Re: My first car was.....
Mustard yellow Mini 850, BPH 257H.
Bought it for £300, with a fresh ticket, although I don't know how it managed to pass that.
The foot well used to fill up with rain water up to your ankles (if you were lucky and it didn't konk out at the sight of a couple of rain drops). But I loved it anyway.
It got stolen in Camden and was found 3 weeks later parked on a zebra crossing with 4 parking tickets, a dent in the door and without its battery.

Re: My first car was.....
Just realised I could have posted my favourite car of my mum's but it'll be modernish as she didn't pass her test until 1990. It was probably the 1993 Mk2 Nissan Micra 1.3 Super S, really fun handling and a great chain cam engine, I liked it so much I bought it from her for a knock down price, for this reason it still the car I lost the least amount of money on.

I seem to have posted the above in the wrong place. Ho hum.
Re: My first car was.....
My first car was a Berkeley T60. SCO55 - Never forget, do you?
At age 16 I convinced myself it was legal to drive on a provisional as long as I blanked off the reverse gear!
Then came an Anglia 105e. Lovely runner but very rusty floor which I fixed with ply shuttering and concrete. My first respray job too, undertaken with my mum's vacuum cleaner on the very day that man landed on the moon.
Gave in to endless rust repairs in the end so I switched to Triumph Heralds. I can count a succession of at least 6, all sold on at a small profit. I recall that the first one came to me for 15 quid with no MOT "Of course it'll pass son." said the local garage man. He was honest enough to give me back a fiver when he found out that I had to fit trunnion bushes to get a ticket!

ABM400L rings a bell and it was Teal (I think) Blue, a manual with no power steering. It was in very good condition. I can probably track a photo down but will have to scan it which will take a while to arrange.
