Good garage Ipswich area

#1 Post by jaycey001 » Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:07 am

Hello

I have recently brought a volvo 740 (E reg). It was meant to be a cheap run around for the next few years and at £350 certainly seemed good, However at £500 to get through the MOT its starting to get expensivve!. It now needs the idle control valve, cleaning replacing and the throttle body cleaning, and possibly the cold start injector looking at.

General issues:
Wont start unless throtle used a little.
Rough idle
very difficult to restart when warm, (not hot or cold)
Ive been on the volvo forums who are very helpfull and it mostly seems like general cleaning is needed, and thus labour costs more than parts.

So i am now living in Woodbridge, nr ipswich and am looking for a good old school garage who can do the work. Or even better a local handy person who knows his/her way around a car and can carry out the work.

any recomendations??

thanks
James

I think you mean the Vehicle Surgeon, 01473 735575, although I have no experience of their work. I use Stephen Caulfield and Son of Tunstall, 01728 688462.
