 Yesterday a red E-Type soft-top heading south on M40 near J5 and I'm sure the reg was JAG 2! 8-)

Today followed a Commer pick-up ... PB? .. might have been a conversion from a van as the cab rear was plywood and sides were custom made and quite low to the rear bed floor. Looked in pretty good condition and had a "The Garage" sign on the side .. who might be this one based in High Wycombe http://www.thegarageuk.co.uk/contact-the-garage/ . Reg ended 998G ... but checking on DVLA site shows up as a Hillman 1725cc .... ??? I know Commer was part of the Rootes Group, but would it be registered as a Hillman or has someone not quite sorted their registration transfer???

That plate is currently displayed on a 1965 E Type so yes, it could well be the one you've seen:

Vehicle JAGUAR 'E' TYPE
MOT valid until 20 June 2018
Registration JAG2

Fuel type Petrol
Colour Red
Date registered 14 May 1965

It was probably one of John Prescott's, he was known as two jags.

It worries me that when a car reaches a certain age, no matter what it looks like, it becomes an icon for some to get so excited that they all but wet their pants.
Take this mundane, easily forgettable, bland, run of the mill example. Chances are it will get the drool emoticon. Why can't I get excited? Well, it didn't cause an adrenaline rush when it was new, so why, after forty years should I get an attack of the wet knickers now? It's a bit like Vanessa Feltz, she's a woman, voluptuous, famous, all that you could desire. Let me tell you, I wouldn't, not even with your's: Here's the car that I saw in Morrison's car park, the one that every shopper just walked past an ignored. Get excited, if you must.

While walking along the street in the French Atlantic coast seaside resort of Royan the other day I heard a vaguely familiar sound. Then, to my great surprise, three Mini Mokes drove past. Don't think I've seen one for more than 20 years. :o

I tell you, the cars you see in Morrison's car park. Can someone tell me what it is? The hub caps have the Lexus symbol but the bonnet has a Toyota badge. (I know that they are the same company) is it one of the Supra range? And are the body panels bolt on extras?

Looks like a Supra with a bodykit from those rear lamp clusters ... and Toyota, Subaru and Lexus are all part of the same group so I guess the sharing of hubs makes wheel swaps easier.

Shame the Japanese Breakfast (Sushi Sunday!) at Goodwood has been cancelled or I would have asked around. I was taking the BRZ down .. still I get a lie in now ..
