Local dolly. Pretty sure the description "one owner, little old lady" applies as I think she's had it since new.

A slightly non-standard post. Found some old Essex Countryside magazines at work, with some adverts from 1965, and 1975.

What is it about clapped out old bangers that make grown men go all dewy eyed? These are bangers, worthy of their donor parts only. They are not classics or restoration projects, nor do they have patina, actually, I've got that wrong: (Patina:a green or brown film on the surface of bronze or similar metals, produced by oxidation over a long period.) They are: Wrecks, rust heaps, dead old boneshakers, clapped out old bangers, jalopies or clunkers. But, if you want to spend your time and money..............................

 Now that door cap is a very lovely slab of timber, which almost makes up for the broken Sherpa coupé in the first image. ;)

Today's mystery car. I've seen this, under the same tarps, since I went to school around the corner (in the late 70's, early 80's). Doubt there's much left under the tarps unfortunately.

Morgan? Possibly a Dellow but my money would be on a flat rad Morgan, meanwhile, the neighbour (he of that spotless Capri 2.8i) had one of his other Fords out today, this is a genuine XR6, not a random MK4 facelift into which someone shoehorned the 3 litre Essex V6:

Poor image as I couldn't be arsed to go beyond the door to the road, but the car's soundtrack made up for that!
8-)

Went out to a pub near Romsey Hants today for the 'Drive it Day' event. Over eighty cars went on the run. One car there I had never heard of.An MG Magna F1. I photographed it but the owner told me of a series of professional photos that made up the sales brochure. It looked incredible in the sunlight.

I used to go past their workshops on my way to school back in the very early 1970s and as you looked down the yard into the actual workshop it was like looking into the black hole of Calcutta inside. I reckon the whole place was lit with one 60w bulb on a pendant, and a very dirty bulb at that...

They must have worked by braille....
