Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Saw a great looking Mk1 Cortina down at Seaton Sluice. White with green 'trim' possibly a Lotus or a good copy at the very least.
Much Kudos to the owner for letting it out.

May the light at the end of your long dark tunnel not be a train travelling the other way.

Seen this one in Florence on Holiday. It was used to promote a restoration specialist.
Let's see if someone knows the make and model. (Clue: it's based on a Fiat 500)

I've seen that one, at least I assume it's the same car - the stripe that's normally a slightly olive-like shade on genuine Lotii is slightly "greener" if this is the one I'm thinking about.M Paul Lloyd wrote:Saw a great looking Mk1 Cortina down at Seaton Sluice. Can't see it being a Lotus though, I overtook him on the Coast Road just by the Norham Road junction and try as he might, he couldn't catch me until the 50 limit at Benfield Road levelled the playing field a little.
The Dolly's hardly slow, especially from 50-70 in 3rd, but to lose a Lotus Cortina whose driver was squeezing his steering wheel as hard as this bloke was, I'd have needed a Sprint.
On Cortinas, I spotted a brace of MK3 in Tynemouth over the last couple of days, One is white and a 'K' plate GXL with black vinyl roof, it's usually found parked near the primary school just East of the top of Front Street, I wonder whether it actually moves from there? The other is a light green 2000E lookalike and I've seen that around the end of John Street, Cullercoats as well as parked outside the Maggie Bank, parked in Northumberland Square (both in NS) and being driven on the old Coast Road near the skittle alley or whatever they're calling those nowadays.
Seaton Delaval has also acquired a fresh old car; a Sandglow (a.k.a. baby sick - says the bloke who runs a Guinness-pooh brown one ) Dolomite 1500HL seems to have taken up residence on the street opposite Westbourne Garage and has been parked there every weekday for the past couple of weeks. The looks on the faces of the locals as I pass it driving mine are priceless; anyone would think they were rare or something.
Another Dolomite was the victim of an attempted break-in in Gosforth two days ago, according to a report in the Journal. The piece claimed that the would-be thieves abandoned their efforts when they
Hmm, those '70s BL locks eh.couldn't get the door open...
And finally; the fella along the coast in Lynemouth who keeps an A35 in his garage and only brings it out on about four days during an average year was down there this afternoon, parked outside the Anglers' Mutual shop that now occupies the site of the old petrol station.

I saw a nice looking 1964 Morris Minor today. It was almond green and looked very tidy as it drove past. There's currently a Series 1 Land Rover, in the garage not far from the shop.

I did a 'double take' today.............. a Mk5 Cortina shot past in the opposite direction to me. Sort of hand painted in matt black with two 'chav' types on board & the driver was giving it some

I saw a red MGB leaving the West Somerset Railway yesterday and I noticed a few classic buses in a garage next to the WSR Station. I think the name on their regular buses was Quantock.
