I used to own a beige 2 litre ghia.. I put a new front end on it.. couldn't afford the insurance so it got sold.. :(

Mine was an ex-fleet car. I'd sorted a few of the "pool" cars for the company I worked for and as a "Thank you" got the Cortina for a knock-down price and paid for over a year!! :D

It was a base model (black painted bumpers and not even an L on the boot!) so gained some furry seat covers as the vinyl ones were a bit cold in winter and some white wheel trims, plus electronic ignition. I was a great runner (apart from throwing a cambelt once on the M4 near Slough ... no damage, not an interference engine!) and served us well for a few years. Travelled up to Aberdeen in it without a blip and a lot of trips to SW England. Also used in next job to travel around UK a lot for a couple of years! Only sold it as I got another role and a company car came with that one!

Mine was the nicest car I'd ever owned.. I sold it to a mate who wrecked it ..I wasn't best pleased..
