hi all. new here. got a rover p6 3500v8 auto 1974. sadly still have to pay tax on it..
in green decent shape . had a paint job at some time. body sound. carpets ok but will look at replacing in distant future and of course expensive rechroming..
joined a classic car club and managed to get to a meet though not back ( fuel issues).
under 35.000 genuine miles so not bad for a near on 40 year old. wife not over keen as seeing ££££ spent and very few miles to show for it. if anybody around my area ( Havering) theres a lovely freindly all models .makes and bike club . started up 2 years ago and expanding rapidly. nice to see everything form rollers to odd motor bike turning up.
sadly I turned down chance of my real love ( Jensen interceptor).. oh well life too short not to have fun. hope I get top meet one or two of you in due course. meanwhile happy motoring and oh yes... any rover bits lol found in a garage will always be welcome. though sadly I can't offer mucho coins as wife threatening divorce over this car so far..

Hi Folks.
New in today!
I have had dozens of classics over the years and currently have 2 Spitfires a Wolseley Hornet and a Nissan Skyline r32 gtst..
The only one that is used at the moment is the Skyline..
I organise various 'runs' which are usually well attended. I also help sort countless shows throughout the year..
I am sure that my name will be familiar to one or two members on here, as I recognise several !!
My wife gives me permission to buy any car I like as long as it is quicker than the previous one !!! (lucky boy) !!
The trick is to have at least one slow car in the fold !!
Anyhow.. I look forward to reading your posts and joining in the 'fun'

Cheers for now..... Digger.. ;)

Hi all,

New to the forum so thought I would say hello :)

Plumber by trade but confirmed BMC nut when not working ! Currently have (and have owned previously) both six & four cylinder Farina bodied cars and also have an A35 tucked away that belongs to the missus. Will probably have something else added to the collection next month too 8-)
I also collect old garage memorabilia & also have a big interest in WW2 history and artifacts.

Pics posted in the Members Cars & Projects bit - Please be gentle..... 8-)

I have to say upfront that I'm not a concours guy, you'll probably get that, and it does rankle some people that I'd rather drive my car than have it sit on the drive. Over here on the Isle of man car tax is rather like the old U.K system. used to be rolling 25yrs but they pegged it a couple of years ago. Anything pre-87 is only £11 tax...... apparently this year the gov are going to introduce a 'retro' Tax so anything post '87 but over 25yrs old only pays 50% tax :D

G'day from south west Oz, the land downunder -- I moved here from the UK in 1965. Prior to that I worked for a Rootes Group garage in north west London and, for a while, Rootes themselves. For the last few years I also worked night shift as call-out for the AA & RAC -- a bit of extra cash before emigrating as a ten pound Pom.
Out here I own, run and maintain a Triumph 2500 and a Peugeot 505 plus 2 diesel tractors, Toyota ute, chainsaws and sundry stationary motors as I live and run a 650 acre farm with my wife who owns the place.
Whilst I enjoy reading posts that members of this site write I'm hoping that I may also be able to contribute to it -- especially about classic car electrics.

Hi,

new to this forum and just wanted to say hello. Have been coming on here for over a year now and finally decided to join yesterday. I currently have a 68 MGC which has been off the road for five months having the engine, gearbox, suspension and brakes rebuilt plus a few other little bits. It's nearly all back together now and I plan to have it back on the road in a couple of weeks :).

Looking forward to contributing to the forum and seeing other peoples projects.

Lawrence.
