This evening I went to Dumfries to see the cars which had started in Glasgow, stopping at the Dumfries checkpoint outside the Cairndale hotel. Here are a few of the photos I managed to take.

Now that is a nice collection of iron!
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I've just noticed this forum cuts bits off the pics. I should have resized them, but nevermind, they give an idea.

You're using the wrong theme.FrazzleTC wrote:I've just noticed this forum cuts bits off the pics. I should have resized them, but nevermind, they give an idea.
Change it to "subsilver2" in your user settings and you'll not only be able to see the whole images, avatars will then appear in the right place, at the left:
There, that's more like the job!
Fantastic pictures, especially when you can see them in all their glory. Very atmospheric they are too.

Re: Monte Carlo Historique, Dumfries checkpoint
Is that what used to be called the Monte Carlo Challenge I have some VHS of the event in 1991, 92 & 93 (They are still available at http://www.dukevideo.com/Cars/VHS/Rally ... story.aspx). I never tire of them and I'd have liked to have been there to see off the cars. That said, I'd have been wanting to take part. I reckon my choice of car would be an Mini Cooper S, an MGB or a 2 door Morris Minor (With a limited slip diff ). All are essentially good handling cars, not overly complex and easy to get parts for, should the worst happen
Rules exist for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.
MG Midget 1500, MGB GT V8, Morris Minor Traveller 1275, MG Midget 1275 & too many bicycles.
