I have spotted BobbyMel's Viva estate a couple of times - @ Ryhope & @ Metro Centre, and have been captivated by it. It is utterly straight, complete, proper & rather better than the photo above actually suggests. So nice to see what was a plain and everyday car from so long ago that is not bling'd. It is certainly not plain and everyday now.
Every time I have seen it I have wondered why it hasnt been tooled up with a 2300 engine and all of those good things etc in it.

I guess this is my introduction as im a new member, Im 45 from Essex and like many of you im a regular reader of PC magazine.
I have always liked classic cars and being the age I am back in the day I drove cars that are considered classics now as daily banger transport, where cheap to buy and run.
I will have to do a blog on the cars ive owned my first car was a mini 850 a 1979 T registration that my dad bought me for £500 when I passed my test :)
Anyway fast forward to now and im currently the proud owner of a 1986 Saab 900I 2.0 8v slant four with borg Warner 3 spd auto box.
She has 120000 miles on the clock which is genuine backed up with service stamps upto 89,000 and mots from the mid 90s.
She is all original not been messed with, road legal but a work in progress.
I can remember these being new and the shape stayed with me especially the big American spec bumpers, shes no sports car but a nice old comfortable cruiser, I don't push her these days we trundle on at a steady 60mph on the motorway and shes a happy old girl I can get 25mpg out of her if I steady. I keep a thread on my rusty children over here: http://practicallyclassics.phpbbhosts.c ... =12&t=4713

I've now had this old bus for three years and used daily for a good chunk of that. She's undergoing quite a bit of work at the moment so she can be pressed back into daily use again, this is my favourite car ever.

I'm hoping to be picking this up next weekend, things are in motion to do that. Rescued from a field in Wales originally.

A little on the new side but still a respectable 20 years old is this Corsa I recently acquired. Have spent time sourcing original wheel trims, radio and touching up the various little marks on the paint. Pretty good for a car that's done 100,000 miles. Got me back from London to Stockton-on-Tees in one go without a jot of bother. Definitely a future starter classic and one not to overlook.

Finally, my current daily. At a mere 17 years old it's definitely a bit young to be a classic but has the credentials for being one in the future being a proper green-blood Citroen, just a shame a lot of the Citroen quirks have been smoothed out. A good reliable bus, now had it for 10 months.

Is this a red one by any chance and do you show it down in the North East of England? If not, then this means that there are two of them  , a good thing as they were a pretty decent car IIRC. Value is between impossible and very difficult to gauge short of putting an ad up to your local yellow paper and seeing what kind of offers it brings in, or you could use eBay, searching for similar cars on completed listings.
