Probably won't be posting many updates now as I'm trying to get tucked into getting this finished this year. Plan to have the engine running by easter then the interior and external trims can go on once it's warm enough to finally repaint the rear wing that blistered. I'll post an update in the summer when hopefully it's nearly done.

Just a quick update, Car is now painted properly:

Engine is nearly built but not ready to run yet. Needs the fuel line and electric hookup next. Air filter is way to tall, so am getting a lower one that will reduce the (mandatory) bonnet bulge.

Coming along nicely is that - well done. Metal porn!

Loving your smooth fresh paint but it's still your rocker covers that do it for me.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Thanks guys, getting there!

Kevin, hopefully in the summer sometime she runs up. Terry I always knew I wanted red rocker covers, and they turned out great if I say so myself :)

She's finally looking like a car :)

Had the usual issues with buying things that don't fit so have to work through them. Am going home next weekend too with the intention of fitting the glass and some of the interior, will keep you all posted.

Car is still coming along slowly but surely. Dad decided wisely to use the (short) summer season we have to get tucked into painting the remaining body panels. The doors and boot are almost done but will be trial fitted with the wings first to be sure everything lines up.

As a result, mechanical work has been slow but I've been buying parts needed which are sitting in the car waiting to be fitted up now.

New lower air filter:

Some of dads fabrication work for the wing bases.

Finally, I'm certain that overheating issues with the V8 are primarily caused by unsufficent 'head' of water. I used to suffer the issue on my racing kart all the time as the top hose was barely above the top of the cylinder head. When we fitted a small expansion tank about 5cm above the head, all the problems went away. So I bought this off eBay with a 2 litre capacity:

Still coming along. Just plumbing in the fuel lines and electrics now and the engine should be ready to run:

Finally got the cranked gear lever made up.

I picked up a spares car, mainly for the Webasto roof but it has also been a great point of reference when putting stuff back together!

My brother also picked up 2 spares Hillman Imps. The gold one is a Super and the Blue one is a rather crusty Singer Chamois.

My old man has decided to retire to France, so he is selling up all his cars bar the 2 Anglia's and replacing them with a Riley (An RME I believe is what he wants), I've also been offered an early MGB GT (66), which I am SORELY tempted by. So changing times ahead.
