Float, could you modify a plastic one to fit?
Looking at that, but would need an arm too as it fits differently.

Take the old one and weld the new arm / float connection together?

For the moment we are going to seal up the float, that is probably the easiest route.

I think I need a new air filter:

Interior is cleaned up. I was unaware that we had the original rubber carpet but my dad took it out when he got the car to let the floor dry out.

Little details that are hard to see is the blower fan switch was replaced, and ashtray spring clips replaced.

Engine is all back together with a new starter, exhaust, rebuilt carb, thermostat & housing and new coolant hoses and is ready to start up but the battery was flat yesterday so they will be trying soon.

Thank you!

Not much to report lately. She is running and back together now, bar the fuel tank that is on order and getting the clutch freed up. We are hoping driving it around the field and getting the car good and warm will free it up, otherwise the box will have to be dropped.

Wheels got painted and new tyres fitted!

I found a spare wheel on Fleabay too for 25 quid posted so will get a new tyre for that too.

Nice! I used to drive a tractor that the clutch would stick regularly... i always started it in reverse. Hope this is helpful ;)

Thank you. Yep they have other things going on at the moment but they intend to drive it round the fields with the pedal down hoping getting the engine warm and adding load through the system will free it off. If not, it will have to go over the inspection pit to remove the box.

I've been told by the supplier that the fuel tank is new ready to ship, so we should hopefully get that next week and install it. Once that's done she is pretty much ready to ship!

In the meantime I have been made aware of a 106E saloon someone found in the garden of a house they bought. I'd like to take as much off it as possible but the issue is it is nearly 1000 miles away, so I'm not sure the best course of action yet.

The car is well beyond saving but has a useful number of spares. The owner would rather not have to remove them himself so I would probably get a deal if I could get over there and strip it myself. Flights are cheap and quick, but the issue is getting all the parts back.

Could you get someone to collect the complete car?

I thought about that, but he says he's been offered $1000 for various parts off it already. Given it's up to its sills in mud, and it would cost another thousand easily to ship it, there is no way it is worth $2k to me.
