The differential was noisy on my Sierra before it was laid up so time to get it sorted, once removed I drove it over to Bara Motorsport in Bromsgrove near Birmingham, it's a 250 mile round trip but they come highly recommended, I had arranged to drop it off at 9am and should be done by 2pm which it was.

Cant recommend these guys enough, Diff was stripped cleaned and reconditioned with new seals and bearings and properly set up.

That's all for now,

All the above has been imported from another forum and work has moved on since then, The diffs now fitted the car's mot'd and taxed, and has done about 100 road miles "Testing" and it drives really nice,

Headlining and C pillars have been restored with new material but not fitted yet a tricky job to say the least, but pleased with result

The newly welded floor has been seam sealed and painted, sound deadening, underlay and carpet back in and the driver's seat fitted

Other bits not mentioned, a new idle control valve fitted which cured idle surging

New Ford heater blower resistor fitted but heater blower still wont work, got to come out

Will update soon with new / latest pics.

My last Sierra was a Sapphire 1.8LX (G580 FVH) which had the CVH engine. Mine burnt a lot of oil which was down to worn piston rings. I'd had the valve stem oil seals replaced which didn't make any difference. The DOHC engine is one of the better Ford engines. Yours should have the MT75 gearbox which is light years ahead of the trusty Type 9.

Wow! I enjoyed reading this. I'm just finishing off my Sierra,I'm using a Galaxy 2.3 block with a 4wd set up. So I had to weld in the 4wd tunnel, and weld in new metal in the same location as yours.
