Mercedes W114

#1 Post by ryan1988 » Wed May 20, 2015 10:17 am

Hi There,

I was hoping someone would be able to shed a little more light on what vehicle we actually have here and even a value as it stands. Mercedes W114 1973 ?

We have just acquired this car which has been sitting locked up for over 10 years, It needs a good bit of TLC but on the plus side the engine does run and the car drives.

I Have tried to upload pictures but they are too large apparently. It is a bit rough but I think it could be a good project as I would love to see it back to how it should be.

Is there any other way to get pictures up ?

Thanks

Hi Ryan, welcome to the forum.
Images uploaded to our server are limited to 128kb.
If you would like to use larger images there are a couple of sites suck as flickr and photobucket that allow you to upload big image files. We have instructions for photobucket here:
http://practicallyclassics.phpbbhosts.c ... f=2&t=4120
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Thanks for the help to upload the pics.

Hopefully they show what we have.

If anyone has any info on these cars I would love to hear from you.

Thanks

That's a good looking car :)
I'm sure alabbasi will be along before too long. He is a font of all Mercedes knowledge.

I have a pair of headlamp lens for one of these, but it was a 1971, K plate 220A saloon and I suspect that the lens are deeper than these on the car in your photos. I also have a pair of the box sections that go over the part between the boot floor and the seat pan, just inboard of the inner mudguards. Not certain they're suited to the coupé thing but if you're local you can have them. As Terry said, Al will know whether these are interchangeable.
